History of Resaldar Major Kesar Singh Sirdar Bahadur

Well, let me take you back in time when Queen Victoria Visited Canada in 1897. With her came few of her personal Guards. One of the was named Resaldar Major Kesar Singh Sardar Bahadur Order of Merit, an Indian Solder who joined the British army when he was only 16 years of age. Completely illiterate, this soldier goes on serving the British Army in India under the Queen Victoria’s Command, working his way up to the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897 serving her as her personal Guard.

Resaldar Major Kesar Singh Sardar Bahadur Order of Merit goes back to India and marries his daughter to a person name Sher Singh Ghumaan son of Subedar Major Wasawa Singh Ghumaan who served the British Army with Resaldar Major Kesar Singh Sardar Bahadur Order of Merit.

Mr. Sher Singh Ghumaan served British Government in Pakistan as Zaildar, later in Punjab Police during the British rule in India, helping them in number of areas including some of major criminal investigations. His son Mr. Inderjit Singh Ghumaan joined the Punjab Police on or about 1963 and retired on or about 1995 as Inspector Punjab Police and moved to Canada with his family.
